PIC FEST & More

Here’s another little update for you - Our latest series of installments involve one huge voluminous story written by the originators of The Gaslight Hotel and Crowe’s Point, and chapters 8 & 9 will prove how a simple (and fun) a little writing challenge can morph into a wonderful exploration of character and plot. All based on pictures, no less! Do check out our latest installment - both good and bad things happen to Tina and John, and Colin craves to know if things will ever be the same for him and Michelle. WARNING: adult situations, rated R.
Along with our update, we’d like to introduce you to some new arrivals to the Crowe fandom itself - one involves a blog dedicated with love to the actor himself and his various characters. Golden Girl presents “Russell Cove” for the purpose of discussing our favorite characters and latest news of our Favorite Man. She’s a brand new fan and we always love to welcome newcomers to the fandom. She has excellent taste in actors and men, doesn’t she, ladies?
If you’re wanting to know where she got her beautiful graphics, check out Lithium Designs.
We’ve also added their blogs as well as new friends to our Favorite Links list, so be sure to check them all out! Among them are our friends Vicki Lyn (”its the way you ride the trail that counts”) and Ithildin with her own fanfiction website, Darkwood, featuring stories centered in Forever Knight and Highlander.
And finally, we’ve been honored with new additions to our Twitter Role Playing family - newcomers to the fandom @nyteraider and Golden Girl have kindly agreed to participate in our little social media game for the Crowe’s Point, the alternate universe for all our favorite Crowe characters. If you’ve been following the RP with @SIDSixPtSeven and @Ava_James, then you will be excited to learn that SID has gone through a reboot…Good Lord, what sort of mesmerizing monster will come out of SID now? And will Ava be able to figure him out (in time)? We can promise you, NOTHING is boring at the Point…
(and a big round of applause for @nyteraider, @Ava_James & GoldenGirl - they’ve already given us a taste of things to come…)
The BEST way you can keep up with all these streams (of consciousness…or lack thereof) is to check out our MixTweet site - this has been a LOVELY answer to our collaboration issues on Twitter, especially in regards to role-playing. It can be hard enough trying to figure out how Twitter works on a general basis - throw in a continual soap opera of conversation and things can rapidly get lost in the chatter. But MixTweet allows us to create groups of the Twitter people we want you to see, and everyone is collected in our Group, The Gaslight Tavern, as well as individual pairings. Some of those pairing include @CaptJackAubrey with @MaddyMusette2 and @MrTerryThorne with @Shaina_Y.
Plus, the really neat thing about MixTweet is, if you want to go back in history, just click the “more” button at the bottom of the page. Its role-play reading made easy!
Working to bring more to you soon!

New Videos, New Twitter
Thursday, September 3rd, 2009 | Website Info | No Comments
Hello!
Pat, of www.rizeandshine.com, has a set of videos that she created while playing around with some software and out of that experimentation came up some thematic compilations of Russell’s movies. Pat has given us permission to link to her videos and so I announce a new page showing our favorites. We hope to continue presenting some of our favorite videos here. If you have any to suggest, let us know! Many thanks to Pat for letting us share her creations!
We’ve also added two new Twitter pairings to our list: Bud White with Emma Jean Camden and Cort with Chloe J Navratil. If you haven’t tried Twitter, this might be a fun way of experimenting with it and getting a feel for how it works. The great thing about all this is that for each pairing there is a page on which both “tweets” can be seen as they appear in the ‘timeline stream’ so you can see the conversation as it occurs. If you havent tried your hand at writing, want to but dont know quite know how to begin, consider using Twitter for a bit of role-playing. This might spark some wonderful ideas! We’re looking for people who would be willing to do either male or female characters.
As for stories, we welcome new ones or additions to old ones. The next update will hopefully include more of the ‘old’ stories from the archives for the Chronicles section of our site.
Best regards,
Sharon

Continuing with our efforts to keep you posted on improving and adding to the site, we have added two new pages in connection with our Twitter page: “real-time” feeds of our Role-Playing couples in the Twitterverse. So far, we have only two couples listed: @CaptJackAubrey with @MaddyMusette2 (Maddy’s RP had to be moved to a new account, but the original under @MaddyMusette is still up) and @SIDSixPtSeven with @Ava_James. We have other accounts active at this time, but no story, so if you Twitter or would like to start Twittering, contact me, Sharon, at gaslight@gaslighthotel.net for details. I found out very quickly that Twitter is more than just telling people what you at for breakfast - its a lively way of interacting and sharing information about your interests and concerns…as well as a unique and creative way to role-play your favorite characters! Come join us!

What is Twitter?
Twitter is social media, the newest brightest form of cyber-communications, more than just a place to post your daily activities or oddball links: a thriving presence of role-playing tweeters populate the growing Twitter community and it was something we dove into.
